These 'professional gamers' are paid a pittance to perform repetative tasks within MMORPGs for the in-game g.old/item rewards. These items are then sold to Western gamers for real money.

I've noticed that since I've started posting about WoW this site has displayed a number of ads offering farmed g.old. I can't control what's displayed but I'd suggest you watch this clip before clicking on such links (or buying farmed gold anywhere else).
